F-22 Raptors Crash Systems at Date Line

In February 2007, six U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor stealth fighters experienced simultaneous computer failures while crossing the International Date Line during a training flight from Hawaii to Japan. The software glitch caused the aircrafts' navigation, fuel, and communication systems to shut down mid-flight. The Raptors had to turn back and were escorted by tanker aircraft, and engineers later traced the failure to faulty date-handling code in the onboard computers.
