Chris Cornell Composed Song Driving

Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell composed the 1994 hit "Black Hole Sun" entirely in his head while driving home from a recording studio in Woodinville, Washington. He later said the title came from a phrase he overheard while channel surfing through TV news broadcasts. Once home, Cornell quickly recorded the melody and lyrics, producing one of grunge's most iconic songs.
