Mr. Cruel is the nickname for an unidentified Australian offender active in Melbourne during the late 1980s and early 1990s. He abducted at least three young girls, holding them for hours before releasing them. Two victims described details of the house where they were kept and reported hearing planes nearby, suggesting the location was close to Melbourne Airport. Mr. Cruel is also considered the prime suspect in the 1991 abduction and murder of 13-year-old Karmein Chan, whose case remains unsolved.
