JFK Survived Pre-Inaugural Bomb Plot

In December 1960, weeks after his election, President-elect John F. Kennedy narrowly avoided an assassination attempt. Richard Paul Pavlick, a retired postal worker angered by Kennedy's Catholic faith, planned to drive a car filled with explosives into his vehicle. Pavlick backed down at the last moment because Kennedy was with his wife, Jackie, and their children, and he would rather not harm them.
