Doctor Who's Matrix Predicament

A 1976 episode of Doctor Who titled "The Deadly Assassin" featured the Doctor trapped inside a virtual reality simulation called "The Matrix." Within the dreamworld, the Doctor faced deadly illusions and was warned that dying inside the Matrix would kill him in reality. This storyline was one of the earliest science fiction portrayals of a computer-generated reality, predating similar concepts popularized decades later in films like The Matrix (1999).
