In 1977, Saturday Night Live held its first and only "Anyone Can Host" contest, allowing a non-celebrity to host the show. The winner, 80-year-old grandmother Miskel Spillman, hosted the December 17, 1977 episode. That episode is also remembered for Elvis Costello's infamous performance, where he cut off his planned song midway to play "Radio Radio," a stunt that got him banned from SNL for more than a decade.
