In 1997, the TV series Goosebumps aired an episode called Click, based on R.L. Stine's short story. In it, a boy acquires a universal remote control that can pause his sister, fast-forward through time, and even change the color of his pet fish. Nine years later, Adam Sandler starred in the film Click (2006), which featured a strikingly similar premise of a magical remote that controls reality.
