Disney's 65-Episode Rule

Disney's 65-Episode Rule

For years, Disney Channel enforced the so-called "65-episode rule," which meant that no matter how popular a series was, it would end once it reached 65 episodes. The policy, introduced in the late 1990s, ensured enough episodes for syndication but limited the lifespan of many hit shows. Popular series like Even Stevens (2000-2003) and Lizzie McGuire (2001-2004) ended because of this rule, despite strong ratings and fan demand.
