Although "Beam me up, Scotty" is one of the most famous lines associated with Star Trek (1966-1969), the exact phrase was never spoken in the original series or any of the films. Variations such as "Scotty, beam us up" and "Beam me up" were used instead. Over time, the misquote evolved into its own pop culture catchphrase.
