In 2003, The Station nightclub in Rhode Island became the scene of one of the deadliest firework accidents in U.S. history. During a concert by the band Great White, on-stage pyrotechnics ignited the club's flammable acoustic foam. Within seconds, flames engulfed the venue.
Panic erupted as 462 guests in the club, which was far above its legal capacity of 402, rushed toward the front door, jamming the exit. 100 people died, including Great White's lead guitarist and the show's emcee, while 230 others were injured. Eerily, a local reporter filming a segment on nightclub safety captured the entire disaster on camera, from the moment the pyrotechnics sparked to the chaos that followed.
