China Agricultural Bank Scandal

In 2006, Agricultural Bank of China managers Ren Xiaofeng and Ma Xiangjing stole US $4.3 million from their branch to buy lottery tickets, hoping to win enough to repay the theft and keep the surplus. They won only about US $12,700, attempted to flee, were captured, and were executed in 2008.
