The SS Californian, a ship that was near the Titanic before its sinking, sent an ice warning stating, "I say old man, we are stopped and surrounded by ice." However, the message was too loud, prompting the Titanic to angrily respond, "Keep out! Shut up!" The Californian later saw flares during the sinking but couldn't help.
