McDonald's Family Restaurant Legal Battle

In 1996, McDonald's attempted to sue the owner of a family-owned restaurant in Fairbury, Illinois, called "McDonald's Family Restaurant," which had opened in 1956. Ironically, the owner, Ronald McDonald, won the case.
