A Hollywood executive once suggested casting Julia Roberts as Harriet Tubman for a biopic during a 1994 pitch meeting, reasoning, "It was so long ago. No one is going to know the difference." The movie, titled Harriet, was eventually made decades later with Cynthia Erivo in the lead role and released in 2019.
