Mrs. Chippy's Tragic Expedition

Mrs. Chippy, a cat on the Shackleton expedition to Antarctica, was shot on Shackleton's orders when the expedition abandoned its ship. Her owner, McNish, died in poverty, lamenting, "Shackleton killed my cat."
