Charles Lightoller's Titanic Escape

Charles Lightoller, the most senior Titanic officer to survive, was sucked back into the sinking ship and pinned against a grate by rushing water-until a blast of hot air from a ventilator shaft shot him back to the surface. He later served in both World Wars, including rescuing soldiers at Dunkirk with his personal boat in WWII.
