Blue Öyster Cult's Cowbell Ban

Rock band Blue Öyster Cult was so impacted by the SNL sketch "More Cowbell," aired in 2000, that they banned cowbells from their concerts, and even fans were no longer allowed to bring them. They had not performed the cowbell live since the song's studio release in 1976, but the popularity of the sketch compelled them to reintroduce it in concert more than 20 years later.
