In November 2021, LaQuedra Edwards, a woman in California, intended to buy multiple cheaper lottery tickets and inserted $40 into a vending machine. A passerby bumped into her, causing her to accidentally press the button for a $30 "200X" scratch-off instead. Initially annoyed, she scratched the ticket and discovered she had won a $10 million jackpot.
