Chewing Tobacco Mishap in "A Christmas Story"

While filming a scene in 1983's "A Christmas Story" where Ralphie is dressed as a sheriff, a prop man gave actor Peter Billingsley real Red Man chewing tobacco. At 12 years old, Peter didn't know the difference and ingested it, causing production to shut down until he recovered.
