Tom Cruise's Interest in "Tropic Thunder"

When Ben Stiller decided to play the lead in "Tropic Thunder" (2008), Tom Cruise called him, saying he couldn't get the script out of his mind. Stiller then suggested the role of studio head Les Grossman, a character Cruise had actually invented, and Cruise accepted it.
