Cyanogen Chloride: A WWII Chemical Weapon

The U.S. developed cyanogen chloride, a highly toxic blood agent, for use against Japan in WWII. President Truman decided against its use, opting for the atomic bomb instead. This compound is now listed in the Chemical Weapons Convention and has never been deployed.
