Green Eyes: A Rare Phenomenon

Green is the rarest eye color globally, present in only about 2% of the population. In contrast, brown eyes are the most prevalent, with approximately 79% of people worldwide possessing them. Genetic research indicates that all humans originally had brown eyes. A mutation affecting the OCA2 gene, occurring between 6,000 and 10,000 years ago, led to the emergence of blue eyes.
