Yankees' Unusual Family Trade

In 1973, New York Yankees pitchers Fritz Peterson and Mike Kekich famously exchanged wives, children, and even dogs in a highly unusual arrangement. The swap stemmed from both men falling in love with each other's wives during the 1972 season, leading them to announce the exchange in separate press conferences during spring training. While Peterson and Susanne Kekich married in 1974 and remained together until his death in 2023, Kekich's relationship with Marilyn Peterson ended shortly after the swap, and both pitchers' careers declined following the incident.
