Feud on Fitzcarraldo Set

While filming "Fitzcarraldo (1982)" in the Amazon Rainforest, director Werner Herzog and actor Klaus Kinski feuded intensely. The Machiguenga tribe's chief, whose members were extras in the movie, offered to kill Kinski, but Herzog declined, as he needed him to complete the film.
