Leopard Seal Fatality in Antarctica

In 2003, a leopard seal caused the first recorded human fatality when it killed biologist Kirsty Brown in Antarctica. While snorkeling for research, the seal drowned her by holding her underwater for about six minutes at depths reaching 230 feet (70 meters).
