For the 2005 film "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," director Tim Burton initially requested 25 gallons of artificial chocolate for the Chocolate River set. This amount gradually increased in scope, to 10,000 liters and then 25,000 liters. The final amount used was 1.25 million liters.
