Titanic Families Charged for Bodies

The White Star Line sent Titanic victims' families a bill, demanding a £20 "deposit" (approximately £2,100 today) to return their loved ones' bodies. If families couldn't pay, the company threatened to bury the bodies in Halifax and send a photo of the grave.
