Shakespeare Forgeries Fool Scholars

In the 1790s, Samuel Ireland claimed to discover rare Shakespearean manuscripts. Experts initially believed them genuine, but scholar Edmond Malone proved them forgeries. Samuel's son, William Henry Ireland, later confessed to the hoax.
