Princesses Snuck Into VE Day

During the May 8, 1945, “Victory in Europe Day,” Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret secretly slipped out of Buckingham Palace to join the celebrating crowds in London. Elizabeth later called it “one of the most memorable nights of my life.”
