Young Bach's Violent Student Clash

At just 18, German composer J.S. Bach taught unruly older students and frequently clashed with them. After calling one a “nanny goat bassoonist,” the student retaliated by calling him a “dirty dog” and striking him with a stick. Bach drew his sword and pierced the student’s jacket, stopping only when bystanders intervened.
