Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz each negotiated an upfront $10 million payment for voicing Shrek 2. In comparison, they earned only $350,000 apiece for the original film. Additionally, producers expected each actor to work just 15 to 18 hours total on the sequel.
