Texarkana: Two States, One City

Texarkana refers to two separate towns bordering one another, one in Texas and the other in Arkansas, that share the same name. Although governed by two different state laws, they function in many ways like a single community. Uniquely, their courthouse is the only one in the United States built directly on a state border.
