Boomslang

There is an African snake-the boomslang-whose venom stops blood from clotting and causes it to spill from every opening in the body. Although this species is shy and rarely bites, its bite is catastrophic. The renowned herpetologist Karl P. Schmidt documented his own death after being bitten by a juvenile boomslang, meticulously noting his symptoms until he died 24 hours later from massive internal bleeding in his lungs, kidneys, heart, and brain.
