Affair Traps Kill Belgian Engineer

In 2002, Louis Dethy, a retired Belgian engineer, facing eviction after cheating on his wife, attempted a deadly act of revenge by rigging their entire house with over 20 firearm-based traps intended to kill his family. He even left a cryptic riddle behind for future occupants. However, before anyone else could enter, he accidentally triggered one of his own traps and fatally shot himself. A military anti-mining team spent three weeks locating and safely disarming 19 of the remaining devices.
