Canfranc Railway Station, completed in 1928 to link France with Spain, was the second-largest station in Europe at 240 meters in length. During World War II, it became a hub for spy operations, refugee smuggling (including artists like Chagall and Ernst), and the trafficking of over 100 tons of gold.
