Magnus Volk, a British railway pioneer, designed the "Daddy Long Legs" in 1897, a unique electric tram designed to run on submerged tracks in the ocean. Mounted on four 23-foot-tall legs, it moved at a slow walking pace, allowing passengers to travel above the waves.
