Dentures from Fallen Soldiers

In the 1800s, dentures were often made using the teeth of dead soldiers. After the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, scavengers harvested the teeth from tens of thousands of fallen soldiers. These "Waterloo teeth" were highly sought after, as they came from relatively healthy young men and were considered ideal for dental prosthetics.
