Drinking Contest Turns Deadly

Alexander the Great had a Hindu guru who accompanied his army on their return to Persia. After the guru died by self-immolation, the army held a drinking contest in his honor. Tragically, 42 participants died from alcohol poisoning, including the winner, who consumed 13 liters of unmixed wine.
