Lottery Winner Loses It All

In 1996, a woman won a $1.3 million lottery, hid it from her husband, and immediately divorced him to avoid splitting the winnings. When he found out, he sued. Due to a Family Code statute penalizing spouses for concealing assets during divorce, a judge ruled that she had to give him 100% of the winnings.
