Nuclear Claims Tribunal Underfunded

The U.S. has refused to continue funding the Nuclear Claims Tribunal, which was established to compensate islanders suffering from radiation-related diseases due to nuclear testing. Of the $2.2 billion judgment, less than $4 million has been paid. More than half of the affected islanders have since died.
