In 2001, drug kingpin El Chapo escaped from prison by hiding inside a dirty laundry basket. After bribing multiple guards, he was wheeled out of the facility concealed in the basket. Allegedly, the escape cost him over $2.5 million, and authorities implicated more than 70 guards, including the warden, who now serves time for his role.
