The Khejarli Massacre (1730)

In 1730, the Khejarli massacre resulted in the death of 363 protesters who were protecting a forest in Rajasthan, India. Their sacrifice inspired the "Chipko Movement," also known as the "Tree Huggers" movement, in the 20th century.
