The Columbine massacre of 1999 was initially planned as a bombing. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold planted bombs in their school, intending to kill hundreds of people, but the devices failed. They resorted to a shooting spree, killing 13 people and injuring 24 before taking their own lives.
