Dodge Viper Discontinued for Airbag Law

The Dodge Viper was discontinued in 2017, not due to low sales but because side curtain airbags were becoming mandatory. The SRT team determined that redesigning the chassis to accommodate the airbags would be too expensive and would significantly reduce the already limited headroom.
