Keanu Chose Hamlet Over Speed 2

Keanu Reeves was initially offered Val Kilmer’s role in the 1995 film Heat, but he declined this role to play Hamlet in a 789-seat theater in Manitoba. He also turned down $12 million for Speed 2 to tour with his band and star in a 1995 production of Hamlet at the Manitoba Theatre Centre.
