CIA-Backed Indonesian Massacre

The CIA actively helped Indonesian dictator Suharto massacre an estimated 1 million suspected Communist Party sympathizers in 1965, providing training, mass media suppression, and lists of individuals, many of whom were later acknowledged as innocent. The CIA did this with the aim to eliminate communism in Southeast Asia.
