Crowe Declines $100M Role

Actor Russell Crowe turned down an offer to play Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, which included 10% of the backend grosses (about $100 million). He felt Warner Bros. had forced Peter Jackson to make the offer, and Jackson had someone else in mind. Crowe believed Jackson should hire who he wanted.
