A 96-year-old Australian lady has knitted over 1,000 tiny sweaters for penguins to protect them from oil spills from the 1990s through 2014. Oiled penguins admitted to the wildlife clinic at Phillip Island Nature Parks in Australia were given these jumpers to prevent them from grooming themselves and swallowing oil before the staff cleaned them. This heartwarming penguin fact demonstrates the lengths people will go to help animals in times of crisis.
