Josef Mengele, known as the "Angel of Death" for his horrific experiments on prisoners at Auschwitz during World War II, lived out the rest of his natural life in Argentina, Paraguay, and Brazil. He operated under the names José Mengele and, later, Wolfgang Gerhard.
