Lincoln's Cabinet Friendship

Lincoln's cabinet comprised a team of rivals, notably William Seward, who was initially resentful and condescending toward the president. Over time, however, the two developed a close personal friendship, spending many evenings bonding over stories, humor, and politics, much to the chagrin of other cabinet members.
